Carolina Heritage Outfitters and the Edisto River Refuge

Carolina Heritage Outfitters was founded in 1989 and is the oldest and most respected outfitter on the Edisto River Trail. Shortly after our founding we established the 150-acre Edisto River Refuge.

Whether floating down the Edisto on the way to your secluded site, walking on our miles of trails, or relaxing on the deck of your private treehouse, you will enjoy being immersed in this fragile ecosystem. Great blue heron, egrets, wood storks, pileated woodpeckers, wood ducks, wild turkey, deer, raccoon, bobcats, river otters, and alligator are often seen on the refuge. Frogs and owls serenade nightly.

Locating Carolina Heritage Outfitters

We are located in Canadys, South Carolina only 3 miles from Interstate 95, Exit 68. Our outpost is on US Route 15, one mile north of the intersection of State Highway 61. We are approximately 90 minutes from Savannah, Georgia, and Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina.
